Intimacy Direction
Katrina Stelk (she/her) discovered intimacy direction in her junior year of college and dived in head first with a 3-Day Intensive Workshop through IDI. Since then, Katrina has furthered her training with IDC Level 2 and has shadowed under Denver intimacy director Samantha Egle.
Katrina has choreographed productions at professional theaters such as Arvada Center and Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival.
Her intimacy work is approached with a text supported foundation and a collaborative freedom. She creates repeatable consistent choreography that the actors feel empowered by. Katrina works hard for her actors making sure they are fully informed on rehearsal plans and timelines, overall vision, and making sure production respects pronouns. Her movement background and passion for the story allows her to discover unique staging that looks and feels good for everyone involved.
She has successfully choreographed a wide range of intimacy including nudity, kissing, and vampire bites!
